2006 Annual Meeting of IVHS Alumni and Friends- An Oregon Nonprofit Corporation - The Annual Meeting of the Membership will be held on Friday, June 30, 2006 at 4 o'clock p.m. at Jubilee Park Pavilion in Cave Junction. This is the annual business meeting and open to all alumni and our interested friends. Voting, however, is done by the paid membership. You may pay your dues at the meeting if you wish to vote. There are three board positions available which can be filled. If you´d like to help us on the board, (PLEASE!) Email Us, like now. ASAP. Whenever the volunteer spirit moves you.
The other important business that happens at this meeting is the decision by a vote of the membership present the amount(s) of our $cholarship(s) to be awarded to IVHS senior(s) of the Class of 2007. We urge you to attend and take part. Class Reunion Organizers are particularly welcome. Your input is needed. The meeting is short. And you might win the door prize! DJ Dance At The Ji Wants Your RequestsDJ George Michels '75 will be at the Junction Inn Timber Room from 8 p.m. to Midnight Saturday July 1 playing the music you want to hear. For a measly Five Dollar cover charge gather up your friends (but not your kiddies) and come join the crowd. His Music Menagerie collection covers all eras. He's got Big Bands, BeBop, C&W, all the way to the 90s, but not much Rap, sez George. Make sure he brings that special song that takes you "back when." Please post your requests on the message board or send them an email. Would you like a limbo contest? A line dance? Sock hoppings? Will the break dancers show up? Silent Auction Presents Good Stuff!
These are the popular themed Gift Baskets available for your spirited bidding at the Silent Auction which happens during breakfast at Jubilee Park Pavilion Saturday, July 2. The Gift Baskets are donated by the classes having reunions as a class gift to our $cholarship Fund, and two classes are making two baskets this year. The classes use much creativity gathering the contents and decorating them. Bring friends and bidding money and show your appreciation of their efforts. The Silent Auction is major support for our $cholarship Fund. You will find items donated by very generous Cave Junction businesses: merchandise, wine from local wineries, restaurant gift certificates. You will also find neat bargains on items that can be described as "garage sale," "anticues" and "juncque"! Donations are needed. Clean out that closet! If you are a crafter, hand-made gifts are popular. If you´d like to bring something indicative of the area in which you live, those are very welcome. Questions? Fire off an email and LaVina, our auction chair, will be in touch with info. You can drop off auction items at the Kerbyville Museum during Reunion Week beginning Monday June 26. Make sure your name is attached so we can thank you! | |
